ChatGPT Ads

The newest acquisition channel, now open to advertisers in the Middle East. We build, run and measure ChatGPT campaigns while the auction is still uncrowded.

People do not open ChatGPT to browse. They open it to decide: comparing suppliers, shortlisting software, planning a purchase, working out what they actually need. Ads appear below the answer, clearly labelled and separate from it, at the moment that decision is being made.

The channel is early, and that is the point. Cost per click is set by how many advertisers are bidding, and there are not many yet. Whoever learns the format now will know what works before the auction fills up.

What's included

Ads Manager setup

Account, billing and campaign structure in OpenAI's Ads Manager, plus the conversion pixel on your site so post-click actions are measurable from the first impression.

Intent mapping

Ad groups on this platform work by describing when your ads are useful, not by matching keywords. Getting that description right is most of the job, and it is a different skill from search.

Ad writing

Copy written for a conversational surface. An ad that reads like a banner is ignored here; an ad that reads like a useful next step is not.

CPC bidding and budget

Cost-per-click campaigns with budgets set against the same acquisition target as your other channels, so this is measured on the same terms rather than judged on novelty.

Conversion tracking

Pixel installed and verified, events aligned with what you already track in GA4 and Meta, so the three channels can be compared honestly.

Testing and reporting

Structured tests on intent descriptions and ad copy, reported weekly alongside your Google and Meta numbers rather than in a separate deck.

What you get

Concrete outputs, not a retainer with vague scope.

  • Ads Manager account set up under your billing
  • Conversion pixel installed and verified with a test conversion
  • Ad group and intent map with the reasoning behind each
  • Ad copy variants in test from launch
  • Weekly reporting alongside your other paid channels
  • A written read on whether this channel deserves more budget or less

Questions we get asked

Is ChatGPT advertising actually available, or still a pilot?

It is live. OpenAI moved from a closed pilot to partner access and then to a self-serve Ads Manager, and self-service buying has now opened across the Middle East, Europe, India and North Africa. Country availability is still expanding, so we confirm your market before we quote.

Who actually sees these ads?

Users on the free and Go tiers. Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Edu accounts do not see ads, and neither do accounts identified as belonging to under-18s. That shapes who you can reach, and we factor it into whether the channel fits your audience.

Can advertising influence what ChatGPT recommends?

No. Ads run on separate systems from the model, they are clearly labelled, and advertisers cannot shape or rank ChatGPT's answers. Anyone selling you influence over the responses is selling something that does not exist.

What data do we get back?

Aggregated, non-identifying performance data: impressions, clicks and conversions from the pixel. Advertisers do not receive conversations, chat history or personal details, so plan your measurement around the pixel rather than around audience insight.

Should we move budget out of Google to test this?

No. Test it with incremental budget alongside what already works. A new channel with thin data should never fund itself by starving a channel that is currently paying for itself.
